Shanti Vajani, With more
than 20 years' association with Swami Punitachariji (affectionately
known as Bapu) and the Hari Om Tatsat Jai Guru Datta mantra,
Shantibaba embodies the energy of the mantra. Although he
himself makes no claims to spiritual mastery, those who attend
satsang, chanting and meditation with Shanti report dynamic
experiences and transmissions of Truth, as well as beneficial
life changes. A two-week retreat on Maui in April, attended
by a number of Crestone residents, has led to this June visit.
The mantra Hari Om Tatsat Jai Guru Datta was received
by Bapu twenty-five years ago in India after decades of intense
spiritual practice. During Bapu's visit in October of 1999
many Crestone residents experienced the magic of Hari Om.
Chanting this simple, yet powerful mantra for ten minutes
or so, then sitting quietly allows one to enter into meditation
spontaneously and effortlessly. No previous experience of
meditation, nor any special technique is necessary. Using
the mantra on a regular basis brings about deep inner change
and spiritual growth
